Paint Party

5 July 2007 at the 02.

On Thursday, 5th of July 2007 1,500 children from around the UK, USA, France and Belgium gathered at the newly opened O2 to help pop artist Romero Britto create a 45 ft pyramid commemorating the return of King Tutankhamun to London after 35 years.

The children took part in a fun filled paint day which was hosted by Romero Britto. The children each painted a canvass and each got to spend some time with Romero. All schools involved will receive their canvasses to keep and display at their school.

The children were kindly given goodie bags packed with goods from Natational Geographic and Britto.

To coincide with the arts project, organisers of the eagerly anticipated "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibition also announced that single tickets will go on sale to the public on 12th September 2007 and revealed that a new Howard Carter Gallery produced in collaboration with The British Museum will form part of the exhibition.
